“The world is full of persons only some of whom are human”

Welcome

With The Animist Turn I wish to share the intertwined threads of my researches and writings, and to join the network of people who engage with New Animism and walk along the path of the Vegetal Turn.

Something Has To Change

I believe that in order to change the route that is bringing us to the brink of social and ecological collapse, we should navigate on alternative waters, waters of reconnection, respect, reciprocity and sustainability. As part of this journey, animist stories that let nature speak in the active voice can show us ways to heal and re-enchant the world, and to sew us back to the broader-than-human community we belong to.

What I Do

My research, writing and teaching are devoted to exploring animist stories, ceremonies and relations in past and present cultures, and to delve into respectful and reciprocal human-plant relations as acts of resistance, ecology and care. As part of this path, I aim at advancing an environmental education with plants encompassing animism, art, science and storytelling.
